Rabbi Grossman brings real energy and warmth to the kehillah. With his down-to-earth style and friendly, outgoing personality, everyone who comes to Mevakshei Emes feels they are part of the family.

Thank you. We'll get back to you soon.
What you can do in Admin
Admin lets Rabbi Grossman and Gidon Avidon change the website themselves. Every change shows up for everyone right away.
You want to...
What to do
Change words on the page (announcements, the line under each shiur, About Us)
Sign in, then tap the words. See Changing the words.
Add or remove a Kiddush or Shaloshsudos sponsor
Sign in, press Sponsorships
Cancel a shiur or Groups for one week, or change its time
Sign in, press Shiurim & Groups
Turn a shiur or Groups off until further notice
Sign in, press Shiurim & Groups
Add, fix or remove a Dvar Torah
Sign in, press Divrei Torah
Things Admin cannot do. The davening times, zmanim, parsha and calendar are worked out by the website by itself, so there is nothing to type for them. For anything below, ask Claude:
Davening rules or times (for example, "Shabbos Shacharis is now 9:00")
Adding a brand-new announcement card
Photos, the logo, or the Groups picture that pops up in the corner
A sponsor dedication that doesn't start with "In honor of" or "In memory of", or that needs two lines
Who is allowed into Admin, and the payment link sponsors receive
Signing in
There is no password. Each time, the website emails you a 6-digit code.
Go to mevaksheiemes.org and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
Next to the words "Zmanim calculated for North Miami Beach, FL", press the small Admin button.
Tap your name. Rabbi Grossman is already chosen; tap Gidon Avidon if it's Gidon. Then press Send code.
The screen says "We emailed a 6-digit code to...", followed by part of your email address.
Open that email. It comes from Mevakshei Emes (info@mevaksheiemes.org), with the subject "Your Mevakshei Emes admin code: 123456" (your number will be different).
Go back to the website. Copy the 6 digits from the email and paste them (or type them) in the box with the six dots (••••••). Press Unlock editing.
You are now in editor mode. A dark bar appears at the bottom of the screen with these buttons:
Button
What it does
Help
Opens this guide
Shiurim & Groups, Sponsorships, Divrei Torah
Each opens a box on top of the page (this guide calls it a window). To close a window, press the × in its top right corner.
Exit without saving
Leaves editor mode and throws away the words you changed on the page
Save changes
Saves the words you changed on the page and leaves editor mode
Good to know:
Each code works once, for 2 minutes. Under the box you'll see the time left, for example "1:45 left".
You get 5 tries to type the code correctly.
After a code is sent, Send a new code stays grey for 30 seconds. Then you can press it.
Only one code works at a time, for both of you. If Gidon asks for a code, Rabbi Grossman's code stops working. Don't both sign in at the same moment.
You stay signed in until you press Save changes or Exit without saving, refresh the page, or close it. To do more after that, press Admin again and get a new code.
A sign-in never lasts more than 8 hours. After 8 hours the dark bar is still there, but saving will say "Your admin session ended...". Just sign in again.
Changing the words on the website
In editor mode, any words you can change have a dotted gold outline around them. Tap and type, the same way you type in an email.
Sign in (see Signing in). It's best to refresh the page right before you sign in.
Scroll to the words you want to change. Look for the dotted gold outline.
Tap inside it. Delete the old words and type the new ones.
Change as many places as you like.
Press Save changes in the dark bar at the bottom.
A box with a check mark says Saved for a moment. Everyone now sees the new words.
Made a mistake and want to start over? Press Exit without saving. The page reloads and nothing you typed on the page is kept.

What you can change

This Week
The heading "This Week at Mevakshei Emes"
Shiurim (next to the davening schedule)
Each shiur's name, and the small line under it (a dedication such as "In memory of...", or the sefer being learned)

The card's title and its description
About Us
Every paragraph, Rabbi Grossman's name and his bio
Contact cards in About Us
Address, phone and the small line under each
Shiur names, the lines under them and the Shabbos Groups card also appear on the downloadable schedule, so your changes show there too.
Good to know:
The small lines under the shiurim do not change by themselves. Update them each week when needed.
Don't erase the small line under a shiur completely. If there's nothing to say this week, type a short line instead. An empty line is very hard to tap and fill in later.
In a week when a shiur is cancelled, its small line is hidden, so you can't edit it that week.
The contact cards only change the About Us section. The address and phone at the bottom of the page and on the downloadable schedule stay the same. Ask Claude to change those.
In paragraphs (About Us, the opening sentence, the Groups description) the Enter key starts a new line. In names, titles and contact cards, Enter does nothing. That's normal.
Anything you do inside the Sponsorships, Shiurim & Groups or Divrei Torah windows is saved the moment you press that window's own button. You don't need Save changes for it, and Exit without saving does not undo it.
Don't edit the words at the same time as the other admin. The last person to press Save changes wins, and can undo the other's changes.
Kiddush and Shaloshsudos sponsorships
Most sponsors sign up by themselves, and their name shows on the website right away. You only step in to add a sponsor who called or texted you, or to remove one.
What happens when someone signs up on the website
In the dark Kiddush box on the home page, they tap "To sponsor Kiddush or Shaloshsudos, click here." (or the gold Sponsor a Kiddush or Shaloshsudos button, if someone is already sponsoring). They can also tap Sponsor Kiddush in the top menu.
They fill in: Kiddush, Shaloshsudos or both; which Shabbos; their name; an optional "In honor of" or "In memory of"; phone; email. Then they press Sponsor.
Their name appears right away in the calendar. If their Shabbos is this coming Shabbos, it also shows in the Kiddush box on the home page, in the line that scrolls across the top, and on the downloadable schedule.
You and Gidon get one email with all their details. If you press Reply, it goes to the sponsor.
They get a thank-you email with the payment link and the Zelle option. They also see a Complete payment button and the Zelle option on the screen.
The website does not know whether they paid. Their name shows even before they pay, so check the payment site and follow up if needed.
The list of weeks leaves out Shabbos on Yom Tov, Yom Kippur and Chol Hamoed. It runs to the end of the Jewish year; near the end of the year, the next year's weeks are added too. More than one family can sponsor the same week. Weeks already taken show "· sponsored", and the form says who is already sponsoring.
To add a sponsor yourself
Sign in, then press Sponsorships in the dark bar at the bottom.
Tap Kiddush, Shaloshsudos or Both.
Tap the box under Shabbos. A list of dates opens. Tap the week.
Type the sponsor's name exactly as it should appear (for example, The Laks Family).
If there's a dedication, choose In honor of or In memory of and type the rest (for example, Avi's 18th birthday).
Phone and email are optional. They are only for your records and never show on the website.
Press Add sponsorship. A message says Sponsorship added. No emails are sent when you add a sponsor yourself.
To remove a sponsor
In the Sponsorships window, scroll down to Upcoming sponsorships. This list also shows each sponsor's phone and email.
Find the sponsor and press Remove.
The button changes to Tap again to remove. Press it again within a few seconds. (The second tap protects against removing someone by accident.)
A sponsor who chose Both shows as two lines, one for Kiddush and one for Shaloshsudos. To remove both, remove each line.
To fix a typo in a sponsor's name, remove the sponsor and add them again the right way.
Each Sunday, the Kiddush box on the home page moves on to the next Shabbos by itself.
Shiurim and Shabbos Groups
You can cancel or move a shiur or Shabbos Groups for one Shabbos. The next week, everything goes back to normal by itself, so there's nothing to undo.
To cancel or move something for one week
Sign in, then press Shiurim & Groups in the dark bar at the bottom.
Tap the box under Shabbos. A list of dates opens. Tap the week. You can plan up to about 30 weeks ahead.
Tap the box under What and choose: Shabbos Groups, Nefesh HaChaim, Rabbi Grossman's shiur or Rabbi Smith's shiur.
Under Change, tap one:
Cancel this week, or
Different time this week. A New time box appears (it starts at 5:00 PM). Set the new time.
Press Save this change. A message says Saved. It's on the website now.

Cancel Shabbos Groups
In the davening schedule, Shabbos Groups is crossed out with "No Groups this week" in red. The Shabbos Groups card gets a red "No Groups this week." label.

The new time
The Groups picture that pops up in the corner still shows, even in a week with no Groups.
To undo a planned change, scroll down in the Shiurim & Groups window to Upcoming changes. Find the week and press Remove once. A message says "Removed. Back to normal."
If you save a second change for the same week and the same shiur, it replaces the first one.
To turn something off until further notice
Use this when a shiur or Groups stops for a while (for example, over the summer).
In the Shiurim & Groups window, scroll to the bottom: Turned off until you turn it back on.
Tap the small square next to the item, for example "Shabbos Groups is off", so a check mark appears. It saves right away and a message says "... is now off." That item disappears from the website and the downloadable schedule every week.
To bring it back, tap the square again so the check mark goes away. A message says "... is back on."
When Groups is turned off, the Groups picture that pops up, the Groups link in the top menu and the About Us paragraph about Groups still show. To hide them, ask Claude.
If a shiur ends for good, or a new shiur starts, ask Claude to change the website.
Divrei Torah
Each Dvar Torah gets its own page and its own link to share. The 3 newest appear in the Latest Divrei Torah box on the home page. "Newest" goes by the Date box, not by when you added it.
Tip: write long Divrei Torah in your usual program first, then copy and paste the text in. That way nothing is lost if something goes wrong.
To add a new Dvar Torah
Sign in, then press Divrei Torah in the dark bar at the bottom.
Press Add a new Dvar Torah.
Fill in the boxes:
Hebrew title and English title: fill in one or both.
Parsha or Yom Tov: it starts on this week's parsha. Always check it, and change it if needed. The list also has Yomim Tovim and "Other Topics". This decides where it's listed on the Divrei Torah page.
Date: starts on today.
By: starts as Rabbi Binyomin Grossman. Add a co-author if there is one (for example, Rabbi Binyomin Grossman & Dr. Damon Salzman).
Dvar Torah: the text itself. See How to type the text below.
Notes / sources: optional footnotes.
Press Save. A message says Saved. It's on the website now.

Notes: in the Notes box, start each note on a new line with its number and a period, like 1. and 2.. A note can run over several lines. On the website, readers can tap a footnote number to jump to its note.
Hebrew lines line up right-to-left by themselves.
To fix or remove a Dvar Torah
Press Divrei Torah in the dark bar. You'll see a list of all of them.
Press Edit to change one. Make your changes, then press Save. Press Back to leave without saving. Editing keeps the same link, so links you already shared keep working.
Press Remove to delete one, then press it again (Tap again to remove) to confirm. Links to it stop working.
To share one: open it on the website and press the Share button next to the date. On a phone (and some computers) a share menu opens, with WhatsApp, text and so on. Otherwise the link is copied and a message says "Link copied. Paste it anywhere to share."
Messages from the website
At the bottom of About Us, a Send us a message card lets anyone write to the Shul. They type their name, email, phone (optional) and message, then press Send message.
The message goes by email to Gidon, from Mevakshei Emes (info@mevaksheiemes.org).
To answer, press Reply in that email. It goes straight to the person who wrote.
Rabbi Grossman's email address is no longer shown anywhere on the website.
